Low Airfare To Bangkok - Las Vegas - The Strip Vs Downtown
Let's look at the differences between the strip and downtown. And what your budget is, to answer that question you will need to determine why are you going to Las Vegas. People often ask me if they should stay on the strip or downtown, as a frequent visitor to the great city of Las Vegas.
And the Wynn set the standards of Luxury in Las Vegas, venetian, bellagio, the Mandalay Bay. Most opulent casinos the strip is for you, if you're looking for the newest. If you drive down the street from the airport the first casino you will see is the Mandalay Bay and about thirty casinos later you will see the Stratosphere. The strip as it is commonly referred to is actually Las Vegas Boulevard and is one of the most famous streets in the world.
And some of them are truly outstanding, you can also find a buffet in just about every casino. The dining on the strip is world class and you can find any cuisine you desire. But if you play slot machines and video poker the rates are the same, the gambling on the strip can be a little more costly if you play table games as the bet minimums are higher than downtown. On the strip you also have world class shopping with stores from all over the world. Which are an attraction themselves, there are hotels for every budget and you will be a short distance from the new casinos, if you love to be a sightseer then you need to stay on the strip.
You can probably find more nickel slot machines downtown than anywhere else in Vegas. The table limits are definitely lower downtown and there are plenty of slot machines and video poker. Downtown is definitely the old school Vegas where the budget minded and the serious gambler can be found. All easily within walking distance of each other, the downtown area of Las Vegas has about twelve casinos and they are very close together.
Or catch a show on the strip it's only a cab ride away, if you do want to see the casinos. Block party atmosphere then downtown may be the place for you, if you like a laid back. Every night you can venture outside of the casinos and look up and see a light show called the Freemont Street experience which connects most of the downtown casinos. The hotels range from good to great with the Golden Nugget being the most opulent casino downtown.
So enjoy your vacation, good deals are always available in Las Vegas. Always check the web for vacation packages. The bottom line is that whether you prefer the mega resort casinos on the strip or the smaller budget minded casinos of downtown you should have a great time.
